Alt Rehse is an idyllic place on Lake Tollensee, charged with history. An exhibition and guided tours provide information about the "Führer School of the German Medical Profession", which was established from 1934.
Starting in August 1934, the National Socialist German Medical Association had the "Führer School of the German Medical Profession" built in the Mecklenburg village of Alt Rehse. Between 1935 and 1941, the Nazi model village served the "ideological training" of some 10,000 to 12,000 doctors, pharmacists, midwives and other health care workers.
The 60 half-timbered buildings built until 1941 for the purposes of the Nazi ideologues in the tradition of Heimatschutz architecture have been largely preserved and represent a unique area monument. In view of the significance of the site, a modern exhibition, documentation and education center is to be built.
Here, history will be brought to life. With a digital app, it is possible for groups, families and individual travelers to go in search of clues in the village of Alt Rehse.
