In the café, visitors can enjoy fresh cakes, such as the home-baked Bad Doberan monastery cake, which is famous far beyond the region. A historical recipe was "dug up" and adapted to modern times. While you linger in the Torhaus garden under an old walnut tree, you can browse through the monastery, enjoy delicious food and soak up the atmosphere, as the Torhaus also serves as an information and service point for the former Cistercian monastery of Doberan and has literature, historical writings and information boards on the history of the buildings.
