Roland Wolff, born in Born on the Darß in 1964, is a versatile artist and craftsman with a wide-ranging professional background. Growing up on the Darß, a region known for its picturesque landscape and cultural tradition, nature and craftsmanship shaped his childhood and youth.
After an apprenticeship as a carpenter, Wolff worked in various fields, including carpentry, care for the elderly, work with the disabled, museum and landscape conservation. These different experiences have certainly deepened his understanding of materials, forms and the human interaction with space and the environment. This practical and social versatility is also reflected in his art.
Wolff is self-taught in the fields of painting, graphics and object art. His artistic work is probably strongly influenced by his manual skills and his life experience. As a self-taught artist, he brings an unconventional and experimental approach to his art that is not bound by academic traditions.
Today, Roland Wolff lives in Kronsberg/Beughorst, where he continues to work as an artist and craftsman together with his family, his wife and two children.
