The medieval gabled house, with its cellar dated 1258, is considered Stralsund's oldest stone building.
Remodeled in the 17th and 18th centuries, partial renovation of the baroque Gothic gable took place in 1968/69.In the lower part of the facade, the Gothic division of the facade can be seen in two vision windows, supplemented with a sandstone slab from 1608 coming from the core store of the house.
During extensive renovations in 1994 and 1995, remains of the medieval color scheme and plastic decoration were discovered.
