One of the best-preserved medieval nobleman’s house in any northern German city, locatect directly on the medieval city wall.
The brick main building in the courtyard, whose annex adjoins the city wall, was built around 1287 and is regarded as the best-preserved medieval nobleman’s house in any northern German city. Despite later alterations from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries, the medieval architectural form can still be clearly recognised. Since 1493 the building has been owned by the Stralsund Company of Shopkeepers. The hall in the main building was used for meetings and festivities. Long-term renovation work is currently in progress.
