The erratic boulder garden in Zitterpenningshagen houses 32 erratic boulders of various sizes. The largest weighs 18 tons and is made of granite. The erratic boulder garden opened in 2006 and offers places to sit and relax.

The erratic boulder garden Zitterpenningshagen is located in the village of the same name Zitterpenningshagen, about 5 kilometers south of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund in the district Vorpommern-Rügen. It was completed in 2006 after years of preparatory work. The garden can be reached via the Bundesstraße 96, exit Teschenhagen and from Stralsund via Voigdehagen.
The erratic block garden houses about 32 erratic blocks of various sizes, which were transported here by the ice during the last ice age. The ice formed the landscape of today's North German Lowlands and left behind numerous erratic blocks during its retreat. In the erratic boulder garden itself there are numerous boards that provide explanations about the erratic boulders. Furthermore, there are also boards informing about the gravel mining in the region of Zitterpenningshagen and about the history of the place itself. Another board lists the erratic blocks, which are located in the garden, the stones themselves are numbered to facilitate the assignment.
The largest boulder sits on a small rise in the center of the boulder garden and weighs 18 tons. This specimen stands out among the other boulders and is made of granite. Most of the rocks are granites, quartzites, amphibolites, limestones and sandstones.
Adjacent to the boulder garden itself is a biotope with a circular path. Numerous plant species can be found there, also this biotope is very rich in mushrooms. In the middle of the biotope there is a small pond, which has become overgrown. Shortly after the opening of the boulder garden, an insect hotel was also placed there.
