The Felt Manufactory of Claudia Stark produces scarves, hats, cuffs and home accessories that make you think of beautiful flowers and the delicate play of light from trees and forest streams. "The naturalness and expanse of the Mecklenburg landscapes inspire the shapes and colours of my collections," says the fashion designer, who opens her manufactory for visitors in Basthorst on Lake Glambeck.
Claudia Stark uses precious natural materials to make her fabrics. "The best merino wool is worked by hand into a piece of fine chiffon silk. This creates a very elegant, translucent fabric that symbolises for me the harmony of two cultures: the silk with its Far Eastern lightness and the felted wool, complemented with pearls from the sea bed and lace from Florence as an expression of Western elegance and sensuality." Every piece is a unique piece that combines old craftsmanship with contemporary design.
