The nave was completed in the 15th century, the belfry only in the 18th century.
Sietow church was built in the 15th century, later in 18th century the belfry was added. The church parts are separated by a triumphal arch and the original altar is replaced by a neo-Gothic carved altar. Since 2021 the church has been a venue for various events as a "narrative church".
The "Erzählkirche" is a project of the Sietow parish and the Center for Church Services with support from the Tourism Fund.
To come to rest, to be heard, to be able to listen.
This is what the storytelling church is about, because our experiences, our lives, our world are gathered in stories. With them you can open inner windows, with them you can touch hearts. They help us overcome the hurdles of everyday life. In the storytelling church, in addition to biblical stories, life stories, legends, fairy tales and legends are told. They are all worth listening to, because stories promote understanding of oneself and others. They stimulate the imagination and link values that never lose their validity.
Let yourself be enchanted while listening to and/or telling stories. Widen your gaze, let yourself be given silence and time, find your center, listen within. Here is a church where you can feel how God's closeness feels, which creates an opportunity for every age group to discover new approaches to His closeness.
The offer is addressed to ALL people regardless of age and religious affiliation. The Erzählkirche is a young open project, which likes to develop itself further by new ideas and suggestions. The soul should get a chance here to catch up with us again, because it prefers to walk. (source: homepage)
