Touching elephants, feeding them or even riding them - this is what the Elefantenhof Platschow in the Mecklenburg-Schwerin region offers its guests.
Ten elephants are at home here. In winter, they sometimes pull a sled with children on it behind them, and in May they open the bathing season with the "trunk shower". During the summer, three shows are scheduled every day except Mondays and Fridays.
Unforgettable experiences for the whole family await at the elephant farm in Platschow. Because: On the farm of the Frankello family, Europe's only private elephant breeding facility, young and old can get very close to the largest existing land creature, pet it, feed it and even ride it.Currently, ten elephants live on the farm. But there are also two sea lions, camels, goats, horses, running ducks and many other animals to see.
During the daily performances in the circus tents as well as during the shows on the open-air grounds, Sonni Frankello and his family impart interesting facts about the animals - always relaxed and up close. Many a time, the visitors suddenly find themselves in the center of the action, while tug of war against one of the gray giants weighing tons, while jumping rope with the help of an elephant, or when they let themselves be carried on the trunk of one of the good-natured African elephant ladies.
