Swimming in the quarry pond right next to the Buchholz service area on a very well-maintained site with seating, play areas and a snack bar.
In earliest times, people extracted peat here, which they hauled to Bad Sülze along the banks of the Prahm Canal. Today, valuable gravel is extracted around Langsdorf and partly processed on site. Of particular interest is the tourist development of the lakes created by the gravel extraction. At a former quarry pond, a bathing facility has been created that is especially suitable for families with children. A well-kept beach with an adjacent lawn with some seating and a volleyball court. The adjacent rest stop offers drinks and small meals with a snack cart. The owner charges a fee of one euro for the maintenance of the site.
