The Dobberworth is one of the largest tumuli in northern Germany and the largest tumulus on the Island of Rügen.
The still 12 m high and thus largest tumulus grave of Rügen is located near Sagard. With its circumference of about 150 m it is also called one of the largest barrows in northern Germany. This probably Bronze Age grave was built of about 22,000 cubic meters of earth, which Greifswald archaeologists calculated. The "Dobberworth", about whose name one still speculates, is surrounded by sagas and legends. There are reports of a giantess who is said to have built the mound "by accident", but also of dwarves living in the mound.
