Natural wonder in the Appelhäger Forest
The clubfoot oak can be found in the Teterower Heidberge NSG . Due to its strong growth at the base of the trunk with a diameter of 2.5 m, it has received its name.
NSG Teterower Heidberge covers an area of about 200 hectares with deciduous forest, kettle bogs and grassland, 237 proven species of fungi, over 70 breeding bird species, on the heat-exposed sites thrive several species threatened with extinction, such as Dyer's broom, pigeon scabiosa or Knack's strawberry.
