The tour: It goes from the pier of the White Fleet past the Schwerin Castle through the historic Old Town, the Schelfstadt district and across the Schelfmarkt to the Pfaffenteich. Cross the old market with the town hall and cathedral and continue to the main train station in Paulsstadt and the Feldstadt with the historic cemetery. In the castle garden, take a break from the guided tour of the historic grinding mill and admire this unique museum and the water-powered grinding and sawing of large field stones. Then stroll along the castle garden avenue with its historic villas and take a short break here to photograph the famous view of the fairytale castle. Passing the castle lake and the 21st century garden, look from the Rudolph Karstadt House to the Old Garden with its unique building of state archives, ministry, state chancellery, state theater, art gallery and castle. From there, Lake Schwerin, the third largest inland body of water in Germany, opens up to you.
