Take a journey into Kröpelin's past and experience how a settlement became a town!
Within the museum landscape of the district of Bad Doberan, the Kröpelin town museum is one of a total of 17 museums and local history rooms that, as cultural memorials to their communities, endeavor to bring interested visitors closer to their history as a farming and shoemaking town. This ranges from the archaeological beginnings and the development of the village to the founding of the town that exists today.
Taking into account the expectations and viewing habits of Kröpelin's inhabitants and visitors today, the modern exhibition explains in detail the historical context of the material evidence worthy of display.
Children's stations teach the youngest visitors about history in a playful way. There is a lot to discover in drawers, flaps and interactive stations.
A historical trail leads to other historical sites in the town, e.g. the church, the town hall or the mill.
