Tourist information and welcome centres

Altentreptow was first mentioned in a document in 1245. The small town, situated on the Tollense River, is embedded in the scenic Tollense Valley.

Worth seeing are the St. Petri church with the late Gothic carved double winged altar from the 15th century, the two late medieval brick gates, the Holy Cross Church and the Great Stone - the largest erratic boulder on the German. Mainland.

The museum of local history provides information about the work of Fritz Reuter. For those seeking recreation, there is the possibility of fishing on the Tollense, water and bicycle tours, horseback riding and carriage rides.
