The Möckelhaus Bad Doberan shows the town and spa history of Bad Doberan and Heiligendamm.
The master builder Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel had this building erected as his residence from 1886 to 1888. He lived in it until his death in 1915. The Möckel House shows the history of Doberan-Heiligendamm as the first German seaside resort by means of many typical exhibits. A section is also devoted to prehistory and early history as well as the history of the important Cistercian monastery of Doberan.
A registry office is also integrated in the house.
