Exhibitions and Galleries

CIRCUS EINS - Contemporary Art presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art.

The CIRCUS EINS gallery presents artists of national importance on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen in changing exhibitions. The program ranges from the promotion of young artists from the federal state, to mid-career positions from all over Germany, to selected international artists. The gallery is located on the unique Rondellplatz "Circus" in the princely residence town of Putbus. Around 200 square meters are available for the exhibitions curated by Susanne Burmester in the representative corner building built as the "Kronprinzenpalais". In summer, the exhibitions at CIRCUS EINS are supplemented by projects at other locations in and around Putbus. A partially renovated building at Circus 11 has also been used since 2015. Every year, a guest artist is also invited to create a site-specific installation in the historic forge on the grounds of FLZ Stahl- und Metallbau Lauterbach.
