The small brick church in Babke...
The small brick church from 1901, has instead of the tower a raised west gable, in whose wall openings two steel bells do their duty. Painted window panes, from the previous church of 1719, depict biblical motifs and the coat of arms of Mecklenburg. A crucifix and a Marian altar from the 15th century, as well as an octagonal baptismal font over two meters high from the first half of the 17th century can be found in the church. The name "Babke", first mentioned in a document in 1257, is derived from the Slavic word "baba" or "babak", which means "old".
