In the small village of Himmelpfort, Santa Claus has an address where wish lists can be sent. From November to Christmas Eve, Santa Claus can be found in person at the Christmas post office.
It all began in 1984: Santa Claus must be at home in such a heavenly place, thought the recipients of the first letters. And lo and behold, the reply mail came promptly. The letter carrier Conny Matzke slipped into the role of Santa Claus and answered the mail. She probably had no idea what she was causing. Meanwhile, letters from more than 80 nations arrive in Himmelpfort. A lot to do for Santa Claus and his hard-working "Christmas angels: Together, they answer around 300,000 letters every year.
The wish box at the Haus des Gastes can be used all year round to post wish lists.
