The Kastanienhof is situated in a beautiful secluded location between forests and fields on the edge of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling hills, forests, lakes and the nearby natural beaches of the Baltic Sea.
A time-out at the Kastanienhof is a journey into a world of peace and relaxation. In the midst of the one-hectare historic farm garden with old trees, flower, herb and vegetable beds, the two-century-old guest house is situated in a solitary location in the middle of fields and forests. Fully committed to the tradition of the house, all rooms are equipped with historical furniture. In the cozy guest rooms, the library, the common rooms or one of the many cozy sitting areas in the garden you will find distance from the often hectic everyday life.
Historic farm garden
Those interested in gardening will learn a lot about the cultivation and use of old or unknown vegetable varieties, interesting facts about medicinal and culinary herbs and the history of the farm as part of a tour or an audio garden tour. The garden is open from April 1 to October 31.
