Remplin Castle is no longer standing. Built in the middle of the 18th century for the Counts Hahn, the magnificent 3-winged complex burned down in 1940 under mysterious circumstances.
Some parts of the grounds are well worth seeing: the north wing of the castle, the half-timbered manor chapel and the 2-storey, 10-axis caretaker's house are still preserved. The park, which was designed by Peter Joseph Lenné, is also home to Mecklenburg's first observatory, built by Count Hahn in 1793.
