Parks and Gardens, Monuments and Sights, Fair weather offers

The park is temporarily completely closed due to a tree fall. Measures are currently underway to restore traffic safety along the main paths. The castle museum, café and the lawn parterre are accessible.

Ludwigslust Palace Park is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in northern Germany, covering 127 hectares. The English landscape park is crisscrossed by a generous network of paths that lead to idyllic views and sights. Two audio guides (1 for children) are available for the park, which can be downloaded to your own smartphone via app.

The original baroque garden was transformed into a landscape park by P. J. Lenné around the middle of the 19th century. A special fascination emanates from the artistic water features. In the palace park you can admire the Louisen Mausoleum, built in the Egyptian architectural style, the Helenen-Paulownen Mausoleum, the neo-Gothic church, a grotto and various monuments and flower gardens.

Guided tours and audio guide:

A free APP with audio guide is available for visitors to the castle park. This contains information on places worth seeing in the park. Audio stories for children are also included.
You can download the app at www.mecklenburg-schwerin.de/ludwigslust.
