Schloss Neuhoff - this classic manor house stood empty for almost 20 years, but since the end of 2014 it has been inhabited and restored again. Already, the new owners and the newly founded cultural and equestrian association are dedicated to the topics of art & culture as well as equestrian sports.
Neuhof Castle, first mentioned in a document in 1235 in the possession of the von Plessen family, has a long, partly famous history with and about the noble steeds. The Plessens already had horses. In 1744, the original father of Trakehner breeding resided in the von Bassewitz castle, and from 1823 to 1945 it was owned by the von Langen family.
One famous figure from the equestrian world is even buried in the estate's own cemetery, the two-time Olympic dressage champion of 1928, Carl Friedrich von Langen. It is even said that one of his horses is buried in the park and his "ghost" still roams the castle.
In 2018, visitors can once again look forward to an exciting program, which can be viewed on our homepage and Facebook page.
