Restaurants and shopping facilities are located in the immediate vicinity. On the traces of the Reformation you can experience Greifswald's historic old town and the brick Gothic. Many small stores invite you to store. You can also rent a bicycle. For the quick way to the bakery, a bread bike is available.
The parking lot is located directly on the river Ryck, at the museum harbor. A walk worthwhile to the modern Ryckterrasssen with various bars and squares. A walk/bike ride about 3 km in the other direction, along the river/ towpath, leads to the mouth of the river in the romantic 770 year old fishing village of Wieck. The historic bascule bridge is the landmark of Wieck and can be seen from far away.
In Wieck you can get fresh fish, fish rolls and you can enjoy the sailboats and fishing boats in the harbor. The waterfront promenade leads to the pier and gives a view of the Greifswalder Bodden in the Danish Wieck. This was, along with the ruins of the monastery of Eldena, one of the favorite motifs of Caspar David Friedrich. In the middle of the village there is also a fisherman's church, named after the reformer of Pomerania Johannes Buggenhagen. It is decorated inside with numerous model ships of various epochs of Wieck shipping, including a model ship from the owner of the caravan site Michael Fasten. So much on our own account. You can also reach the Wieck/Eldena destination comfortably by excursion boat or bus. Have a good rest.
