The Mecklenburg Lake District is one of the most popular canoeing areas in Germany. Surrounded by extensive forests and meadows and directly on the lake with a bathing beach is the canoe station Granzow. In addition to tours and boats, it also offers accommodation in the "Sommerhof".
From Granzow you can ideally start excursions to the Müritz National Park, day trips to the Müritz and canoe trips of several days across the lake district. For example, there are combined tours with bicycle and passenger ship. Guided tours can also be booked, for example to the Müritz National Park. Especially popular is the "natural canoe tour", which starts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in July.The natural tent meadow with bathing beach and beach volleyball court is located directly on the lake.
The canoe station Granzow offers basic equipment (laundry rooms with hot water, showers, toilets and sink with hot water) and a group kitchen for rent. A large bad-weather wooden hut with tables and benches is available for free use on the site. The bivouac site is not accessible by car. Loading and unloading facilities are available directly at the campsite. A fenced parking lot is located 200 meters away. Benches, tables and grills can be borrowed free of charge.
Safe beginner boats for adults and children, touring kayaks, group canoes, polo and white water boats, as well as pedal boats and rowboats are available for rent. Canoeing courses teach the basics of paddling and steering techniques. The formation of the lake landscape and the importance of the Müritz National Park are among the topics of this trip, as well as environmentally friendly behavior while paddling. The tour in large and stable team boats takes about four hours, including a break on land. The day trips from Granzow take place in a weekly rhythm with a sufficient number of participants. In each case, registration is required by 7:00 p.m. the evening before. All-terrain bikes, go-karts, children's bikes and child seats are available for rent.
