A real insider tip is the bathing area at the Grabenwiese in Born. Due to the shallow rise in water depth and the milder water temperature, it is particularly suitable for children to swim. On land, there is enough space to linger, but also to romp around. The bench on the jetty invites you to sit down and let your gaze wander over the calm waters of the Bodden. The bathing area is also particularly popular with cyclists, who take advantage of the peace and quiet to take a break and refresh themselves with a swim.
The bathing place "Born, Grabenwiese" is centrally located in the north of the Koppelstrom. The Koppelstrom is a 1.8 kilometer wide and about 4 kilometer long bay south of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula. This connects the Saaler Bodden with the Bodstedter Bodden and has a salinity of 1-3 per mille. The bathing area is located directly in the village of Born and offers about 20 meters wide access to the bathing water with shallow rising water depth.
