Right next to the Pahlhuus Zarrentin begins a 700-meter-long adventure trail through the nearby moor, which was created after the last ice age by the silting up of the shores of Lake Schaal.
The boardwalk through the Zarrentiner Kalkflachmoor is a nature trail of a special kind. On dry land, you can gain interesting insights into a sensitive habitat. At nine stations, visitors learn interesting facts about the history of the moor and its inhabitants as well as the special features of the Zarrentiner Kalkflachmoor: How deep is the lime muck in the moor? Which beetles need deadwood to live? And what do moors have to do with climate protection? Nature lovers will receive informative answers to these and other questions. And with a bit of luck, they may even be able to observe various water birds, dragonflies and rare amphibians. The bog walkway is also suitable for wheelchair users.
