Farm Shops, sustainable

Since 1934, the family business has been managing the farm in the middle of Mecklenburg Switzerland in the third and fourth generation.

As Biohof Peitz has been working according to organic guidelines since 1990. The species-appropriate husbandry and the welfare of the cattle is particularly close to the heart of the family business. The animals live outdoors all year round, together in a large herd. They eat the lush grass in summer and only farm-grown hay and grass silage in winter; performance-enhancing feeds are completely dispensed with. Due to this type of husbandry, the animals are healthy and robust.

We keep suckler cows of the Uckermärker breed. The calves stay with their mothers for at least half a year. Young female cattle that are at least 24 months old are slaughtered once a month. Their meat is slow grown and therefore particularly tender, juicy and aromatic. The organic meat is vacuum packed and marketed ready to cook via the farm store directly on the farm premises. You have the possibility to pre-order your favorite cuts and pick them up on site, the dates can always be found on the website. Since 2019, organic vegetables are also grown on the farmland directly on the farm. Fresh directly from the field it is also offered in the farm store.

The self-service farm store is open every day from 8:00 to 20:00 for you. In addition to sausage, meat and other organic products from the farm, there is also a selection of products from the region.
