Timmendorf beach is a good mix of attractive bathing fun for the young and young at heart. On site there are a variety of water sports.
On the west coast of Poel Island, right next to the harbor and in front of the campsite lighthouse is the beach of Timmendorf with its distinctly maritime flair. The old lighthouse, over 140 years old, which still shows ships their way to Wismar, and the harbor at its feet make this beach so unique.
At about 700 meters, especially young and young-at-heart bathers will find everything their heart desires here. Numerous water sports, e.g. pedal boating, water skiing, kite surfing and surfing turn the beach of Timmendorf into one of the liveliest places on the island of Poel during the bathing season. The bathing beach, which is guarded by lifeguards during the main season, is managed by beach chair renters who will be happy to reserve a basket for your entire stay. Many restaurants with large sun terraces invite you to a beautiful natural spectacle every day in good weather. In Timmendorf you will experience sunsets that you will dream about long after your vacation. During a subsequent walk over the jetties of the piers you can watch incoming ships mooring and perhaps also spin some sailor's yarn. Every year the DLRG/Nivea beach festival and the day of the sea rescuers take place here.
