Viewpoint
The Bakelberg is surrounded by meadows and fields between the steep shore and the district of Niehagen. With a height of 17.9 m, it is the highest elevation of Fischland and offers a fantastic panoramic view of the Baltic Sea and Bodden.
From 2017 until the end of 2020, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the artists' colony Ahrenshoop, the Ahrenshoop waymark "Schreitender Paul Müller-Kaempff" by the artist Moritz Götze was enthroned on the Bakelberg. A smaller version of the figure now commemorates the founder of the artists' colony Ahrenshoop on the meadow in front of the Old School.
