Bollwerk Baabe is one of the most beautiful natural harbors in Germany and is surrounded by wide meadows, which invite you to take relaxing walks.
Just outside the old village center of Baabe is the so-called bulwark - on the Baaber Bek, the connection between Lake Sellin and Having. It all began in 1889, when the bulwark was raised on the Baaber Beek. After its completion in 1893, the first ships brought recreation-seekers to the place. These were primarily high-income earners who wanted to recover from the stresses and strains of working life in the dreamy fishing idyll. In summer, sailors moor in the small harbor and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere there. In the harbor of Baabe, in addition to pleasure boats and excursion ships dock, there are boat tours through the romantic Bodden landscape of the biosphere reserve southeast Rügen and to other ports of Rügen, for example to Lauterbach offered. In Baab harbor you will also find what is probably the smallest ferry in the world - the ferryman will personally row you to the other shore of the Having across to Moritzburg, an excursion restaurant open from April to October with a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
