Planetarium and observatory in the Hanseatic town of Demmin
In 1897 the water tower was built as an elevated tank and served to supply the population with water. In 1978 it was converted into an astronomy station. In addition to a seminar room and an observation platform, a Zeiss planetarium with observatory was built in 1981. Demonstrations for the public usually take place once a month. Schools, clubs, companies and private groups can make their own appointment on request. In addition to the explanation of current constellations, selected objects can be observed with the refractor in clear weather.
