Ackerbürgerhaus Plau am See
It is the last ensemble in the climatic health resort of Plau am See to be listed as a historical monument and to retain its functionality - consisting of the main house and outbuilding, stable and storage building. The farmhouse was rebuilt from salvaged materials on top of the existing cellar building after the last major town fire in 1756. Not one beam of the timber frame is the same as another and shows traces of repeated use. In addition to trade and commerce, the townspeople needed land and livestock to live, so they were farmers. The driveway, the courtyard with cobblestones, well, manure cow, dry abortuaries and the stables with horse manger, pigsty and chicken droppings as well as the granaries have been preserved in their original state and are ready for use. The façade of the main house was altered in 1929 when shop windows were installed in the basement. The apartments in the main and side buildings were modernized in 1999. The listed building is being preserved by the owners themselves.
