Show apiary and bee museum

In the Bee Museum we present historical exhibits on the history of beekeeping over the last 300 years. You will learn about beekeeping, the life of the honey bee, the properties of honey and various bee products and much more. During guided tours you can get to know the production facilities with honey extractors, bottling facilities and wax candle production. Taste different types of honey and discover the bee pasture garden.

Observation tower Plau am See

The lighthouse welcomes boaters as they enter the Müritz-Elde waterway from Lake Plaue. From its viewing platform at a height of 8 meters, it offers a fantastic panoramic view over Lake Plauer See. It is now considered the most popular photo motif among guests.

On 410 kilometers, the nature-rich cycle path connects the river and the lakes. It leads from Wittenberge on the Elbe to Parchim and on to the Müritz. Via Röbel/Müritz and Pritzwalk it goes back again. However, every cyclist can decide individually at which point he wants to start the round trip.

A possible starting point is the Elberadweg, which leads along the beautiful river landscape to Rühstädt, the place with the most storks in the Federal Republic. Almost on every chimney here an amorous pair of the black and white feathered lucky charm rattles with their beaks. The towers of Wittenberge greet you from afar. The town's landmark is the second largest clock tower in Europe.

At Lenzen (Elbe) the cycle path leaves the Elbe and winds through meadows and forests to Parchim. On the way, the Elefantenhof in Platschow invites you to linger. In the village of Pampin, a sculpture park has been created in the middle of nature. Behind the brewery town of Lübz, Lake Plauer See is waiting to be conquered by bathers. In the associated town, the old castle including drawbridge is one of the highlights for cycling vacationers. The route continues along other lakes to Waren (Müritz). Here it is worth getting off the saddle and enjoying the view of Germany's largest inland lake over a fish sandwich. Thanks to the beautiful routing along the banks of the Müritz, cyclists can listen to the calls of bitterns, herons and cranes on the ride to Röbel/Müritz. White-tailed eagles and ospreys circle over the waters in search of prey.

The bike path leads through the rather flat Prignitz region to Pritzwalk. The town and brewery museum is a good place to take a break. Back at the starting point, a car or train will be waiting to take you home again after your eventful cycling vacation.
