At the northern tip of Lake Tollensee - in Neubrandenburg - the 173-kilometer tour starts through a unique river landscape with wonderful views. The city center with its medieval fortifications, fortified houses and magnificently decorated city gates is what makes Neubrandenburg so charming. The route west of the Tollense leads through largely untouched nature to the Hanseatic town of Demmin. Next to it, the river meanders smoothly through the glacial valley. Only beavers occasionally disturb the smooth course of the river with their constructions. Even from a distance, the stately churches from the Middle Ages can be seen in front of Altentreptow and Demmin.

The idyllic eastern shore of the Tollense captivates with its silence and fascinating naturalness. Flowering meadows and fertile fields alternate with shady forest islands. From the hills there are beautiful views of the expansive landscape, as well as from the tower of the medieval Klempenow Castle. The castle café spoils cyclists with fresh cake. Bright rape fields in spring and lush avenues line the way back to Neubrandenburg.

The crowning highlight of the tour is the round trip around the Tollensesee lake. Miles long and sparkling, the lake nestles between forested hills. Numerous native water birds breed in the reed belts along the shore. Gigantic views can be seen from the nearby Hellberge and from the Belvedere Pavilion on the northwest shore. The popular Broda lido invites you to take a refreshing break.
