On the western shore of Lake Kummerow, the path winds through meadows, fields and marshy floodplains. Wooded hills reach to the shore. Via the vacation resort of Salem, the route leads to Neukalen and on through Dargun to the Hanseatic town of Demmin, steeped in history.

Before reaching Loitz, you cross Europe's oldest manual swing bridge before reaching the mysterious Peene forests. Shady avenues lead to small villages. In the Peen meadows between Gützkow and Jamen, orchids and butterflies shine in all colors.

Cyclists experience the Peene valley with its incomparable biodiversity in a charming and charming way. Cranes and bitterns breed in the peat bogs, marshes and oxbow lakes, ospreys circle and beavers hide in the reeds. The cycle path follows the meanders of the river to Lake Kummerow, the fourth largest lake in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
