From Malchin, the round trip begins along the Peene Canal in one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in Europe. On the western shore of Lake Kummerow, the path winds through meadows, fields and marshy floodplains. Wooded hills reach to the shore. Via the vacation resort of Salem, the route leads to Neukalen and on through Dargun to the Hanseatic town of Demmin, steeped in history.

Demmin is located in the fish-rich "Dreistromland" of the Peene, Tollense and Trebel rivers. From here you can experience the Amazon of the North from the water on a passenger ship.
Before reaching Loitz, you cross Europe's oldest manual swing bridge before reaching the mysterious Peene forests. Shady avenues lead to small villages. In the Peen meadows between Gützkow and Jamen, orchids and butterflies shine in all colors.

Cyclists experience the Peene valley with its incomparable biodiversity in a charming and charming way. Cranes and bitterns breed in the peat bogs, marshes and oxbow lakes, ospreys circle and beavers hide in the reeds. The cycle path follows the meanders of the river to Lake Kummerow, the fourth largest lake in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On the way to Malchin, wonderful swimming spots invite you to take a refreshing dip.
