From Kratzeburg at the Käbelicksee, the tour first leads 23 km through motorboat-free waters. Past marshy meadows and steep forest slopes, the canoe glides leisurely along the Havel and lakes. Birds of all kinds can be observed in the silence. Bitterns wade through the shallow shore water, kingfishers flit wildly over the glittering water, and gray herons lie in wait, hidden, for their prey. Only for a short time is this idyll interrupted by the transfer at Granziner Mühle. On its way to Babke, the Havel meanders past dense reed banks. A break at the local fisherman provides welcome refreshment.

Before the probably most beautiful section of the upper Havel begins at Blankenförde, a canal leads to the right to Kleiner Jamelsee, where the fairy-tale camping site "Zum Hexenwäldchen" is located. In Blankenförde, the canoe glides through a shady canal, along quaint boathouses that are reflected in the crystal-clear water. Soon after, the Havel shows its wild and romantic side. Along the sea of water lilies of the Görtowsee it goes to the approx. 5 km long Useriner See, where also nudists find a domicile. The quiet trip through the Müritz National Park ends at the Großer Labussee.

Almost without current the canoe glides on the Havel to the Woblitzsee, passing mysterious marshland. Paddlers reach the destination Neustrelitz on the left hand side of the Woblitzsee. A detour to the small town of Wesenberg, about 3 km away, is also recommended. The last kilometers to the destination lead through Kammerkanal and Zierker See. At the end of the tour we recommend a walk in the castle garden of Neustrelitz or a visit to the Slawendorf.

Water profile

On some lakes, strong waves are to be expected in strong winds, otherwise a current-free stretch. Restricted navigation and mooring in the Müritz National Park. Zotzensee, Jähtensee and Zierzsee are located in the core zone of the national park and may only be crossed along the buoy markings. Motorboat traffic from the Great Labus Lake. Transfer or locks at 4 locations. A lorry is available for this purpose at Granziner Mühle.
