Paddling enthusiasts set sail in Kratzeburg, completely undisturbed by motorboats. Past marshy meadows and under leafy tunnels, the canoe glides leisurely along the Havel and lakes. Birds of all kinds can be observed in the silence. Bitterns wade through the shallow shore water, kingfishers flit wildly over the glistening water, and gray herons lie in wait, hidden, for their prey. These long-legged birds have chosen the quiet spot at Käbelicksee as their nursery. Only for a short time this idyll is interrupted by the transfer of the canoe at Granziner Mühle. Between Granziner Mühle and Pagelsee, the Havel is particularly pristine. For the protection of animals and plants, further travel on the water is not permitted. A lorry track makes the transfer of the canoe easier and an adventure for the whole family. Beforehand, you can fortify yourself at the potter's farm of the Steuer family at Granziner See. In the farm café, paddlers are treated to apple pie fresh from the oven and pottery soup.

From Pagelsee, the tour continues in the direction of Zotzensee. Here, paddlers have just a hand's breadth of water under their keel, because with an average depth of one meter, the lake is quite shallow. In its dense reed belt, the moor ox - the bittern - with yellow-black-brown plumage is almost invisibly hidden, at home.

Through a small channel you reach the Babk weir, the second transfer point. Shortly thereafter, the local fisherman provides welcome refreshment with delicious fish sandwiches.

The tour continues across the Jäthensee. On the right hand side a canal leads to the small Jamelsee, where the fairy-tale camping site " Zum Hexenwäldchen" is located. In Blankenförde, the canoe glides through a shady canal, along colorful boathouses that are reflected in the crystal-clear water, before the destination is reached.

Those who still have enough strength can paddle along the sea of water lilies of the Görtowsee and on the approx. 5 km long Useriner See to Zwenzow and perhaps encounter the blue shining kingfisher again on the way.
