The starting point of the Poel tour is Fährdorf. It is best to arrive by car and use the parking lot at the entrance to Fährdorf. With the bike you go over a little frequented road to the district Gollwitz. There is a toilet for people with disabilities. A Euro key is not necessary. North of Gollwitz is the uninhabited, protected island of Langenwerder. A visit to the island is prohibited, but the beautiful view of the nature reserve is well worth it.
A paved sandy path leads through a dreamy avenue along Poel's steep coast to the place called "Schwarzer Busch". There is the oldest bathing beach on the island, which is also one of the most beautiful. There are three beach accesses from the long promenade - two of them are paved. In addition, there are parking spaces and a toilet for people with disabilities. Here you can also find the Dambeck pottery.
After the stop at the bathing beach, continue towards Kirchdorf. Passing the Cap Arcona memorial, you reach the district of Oertzenhof. There you can see the restaurant Glüder's Schlemmerstübchen with step-free access from afar. After the refreshment you continue to Kirchdorf. In the harbor you will find delicious fish rolls fresh from the cutter.
Tip: Bicycles can be rented in Alt Farpen from Olaf Reinike just outside the gates of the island of Poel.
